Epics are available to internal users only and may need to be enabled via team feature configuration.

Overview

Epics sit above tasks but below projects in Apollo’s hierarchy. Use them to group related tasks into large features or initiatives, typically spanning multiple sprints or releases.

Creating an Epic

Navigate to Epics and click New Epic. Fields include:
  • Title (required)
  • Description
  • Project
  • Quarter — for quarter-based planning
  • Target Date

Epic Detail

Each epic detail page shows:
  • Grouped tasks — all tasks linked to this epic
  • Progress — completion percentage
  • Stats — task counts by status, total effort

Gantt Integration

Epics appear as a level in the Gantt timeline hierarchy: Project → Epic → Release → Task.
